The .KML/.KMZ file format support in AlpineQuest
AlpineQuest can read various items from KML/KMZ files, including:
- Points, paths, polygons, tracks and multi-tracks;
- Colors and some point icons.
AlpineQuest doesn't support:
- Ground overlays;
- Elements linked to an online account;
- Altitude values stored online, such as altitude mode 'ClampToGround';
- Online styles, icons and images.
All KML/KMZ files are read-only, however it's possible to export tracks recorded with the GPS Location Tracker in KML format.
How to export tracks in KML format
- From the GPS Location Tracker window, click on the “
Export
” button; - If desired, enter a name and a description for your track;
- Check the “
KML
” export format option ; - Click on the “
OK
” button to proceed to the export.
The track will be exported in a KML file in the AlpineQuest landmarks folder (by default '/sdcard/alpinequest/landmarks/
').
