Hi again,
What is this vertical shade that is displayed on the left side of a map ?
This seems to represent some boundaries.
I find it annoying.
Is it possible to have an option to remove or disable it ?
Thanks.
Regards.

Hi,
I'm afraid I don't see what you mean...
Can you be more precise?

Re: Vertical shade
Hi,
Take a look at the screenshot.
There is a vertical stripe that slightly darkens the map at the red arrows.
When I move the map, the stripe follows the movement then disappears and reappears on the left side.
Regards.

Re: Vertical shade
I must admit that I have no idea what is this shade, but surely not a feature of AlpineQuest.
I never saw it on any other device...
Is it always visible? Do you see it on other AlpineQuest windows like the Localisation settings or file explorers?
Best regards

Re: Vertical shade
Hi,
The shade is only visible on the map.
As I thought, this is related with some boundaries. The shade is exactly placed at a "map column". I was offline and while using a given zoom level, I've noticed that the shade is exactly placed at all outbound map cells of the same left column.
Regards.

Re: Vertical shade
Hi,
May I have some feedback on this topic ?
Apart from the fact that I have a high definition device (Galaxy S3), I'm sure that this is not related with my device.
Thanks.

Re: Vertical shade
Hi, sorry,
I haven't found anything concerning this shade right now (these last days I was fully working on the new update)...
You said that the shade seems to match the columns, so does it mean that it moves right and left when you slide the map?
One day I noticed that the colors of freshly retrieved map tiles (so displayed without being saved) haven't the exact same colors than the cached tiles retrieved from the local tiles. But since you also see the shades on empty map tiles, it cannot be that...

Re: Vertical shade
Hi,
It moves right when I slide the map on the right until a new tile is about to be displayed => the shade is on the new tile.
It moves left when I slide the map on the left until the current tile is completely hidden => the shade is on the next tile.
Thanks.
Regards.
The shade appears only on the left side (both in portrait and landscape orientation).AlpineQuest wrote:You said that the shade seems to match the columns, so does it mean that it moves right and left when you slide the map?

Re: Vertical shade
What is weird is that since it's jumping from tile to tile, it's not related to tiles generation, but rather on the display on the screen...
Right now I've no clue (and don't reproduce it on my devices), I'll let you know if I find something new.
Best regards

Tile shade
On my SGS2 I have same shading effect : it's not only vertical but horizontal too, as it covers each tile surface, and is especially visible at tile corner on [almost] white map areas. I can move the shading cross of 4 tiles on [almost] all the screen, and screen flickers [a little !] during the move because of this.
Not at all a problem for me, but... confirmed !
