A common issue when recording a track is to lost the GPS location fix, leading to a missing part in the track (seen as a straight line longer that usual in the track). Usually, it happens because the device doesn't have a good enough access to the sky, for example when the device is in a pocket or in a bag. The GPS signal emitted by GPS satellites is weak and get easily lost when going through any hard material.
